AIHealth care solutions driven by artificial intelligence (AI) can offer more personalized, precise treatment options and better health outcomes; however, implementing AI in clinical settings can be complex due to cultural, economic and regulatory factors. Leaders must overcome challenges, including data quality and bias, algorithmic trust and skills deficits, while focusing on patient-centricity and treatment options.

AIHEALTH will equip you with the knowledge and strategies to design, pitch and implement AI-driven solutions and bring about transformative change. Through case studies, a capstone project and expert instruction , you will learn to frame a machine learning solution for a health care challenge, evaluate and select appropriate AI models and implement AI strategies from end to end.

As AI continues to advance, it is playing an increasing role in the clinical trial process, from initial discovery to final data analysis. By automating tasks such as protocol writing, patient recruitment, and data management, AI can optimize operations, reduce costs, and speed up the development of therapies. However, AI simultaneously presents critical challenges, including the risk of inaccurate outputs, data verification difficulties, and algorithmic bias.

Still have questions?

What is Primary Care?

Primary Care is part of our Primary360 virtual care offering designed to help you manage your overall health—body and mind. You start by scheduling a visit with the primary care provider of your choice. Your primary care provider will partner with you over time to gain a complete understanding of your health. You’ll also work with a dedicated care team of registered nurses and care coordinators who get to know you as a person, not just another patient. Your primary care provider and care team will treat any current needs, connect you to other care virtually or in person, and build a care plan to help you reach your health goals.

Who can use Primary Care?

Eligible adults ages 18 years and older can use Primary Care. Primary Care is ideal for those who don’t currently have a primary care provider, want to try a new primary care provider or can’t get in to visit their in-person primary care provider as often as they’d like.

Who are the primary care providers?

Our primary care providers are board-certified doctors and nurse practitioners with experience in family practice, internal medicine and related specialties. They’re well-versed in building relationships with patients in a primary care setting.

You will also have access to a dedicated care team of registered nurses, medical assistants and care coordinators who provide additional support and coordinate your virtual and in-person care throughout your care journey.

What should I expect during my new patient visit?

Video visits are recommended, but you can also meet by phone. During your visit, your chosen primary care provider will do basic health checks and talk with you about your medical history. You will also be able to review and discuss any images or previous lab work and test results that you uploaded before your visit. After your visit, your care team will create a personalized plan for lab orders and prescriptions along with clear next steps on how to reach your health goals. Your care plan will always be accessible through your AIHealth account. If you need to get care in person, your primary care provider and care team will connect you, as well as answer any questions you have.

How can I do this from home?

We’ll mail you a Welcome Kit with a blood pressure monitor—yours to keep—at no cost to you. This will allow you to easily record your blood pressure so your chosen primary care provider can review the readings. Your primary care provider will also review the information provided on your health assessment when you scheduled the visit.

How does my virtual-first health plan work with in-person care?

With your benefits plan, you get virtual primary care by phone or video that connects you to in-person care when you need it. You’ll start by scheduling a virtual primary care visit with the provider of your choice. We’ll mail you a Welcome Kit with a blood pressure monitor—yours to keep—at no cost to you. This will allow you to easily record your blood pressure so your primary care provider can review the reading. If your primary care provider determines during your visit that your healthcare needs call for in-person care (such as lab work, imaging studies, specialist referrals and vaccinations), your care team will assist in connecting you to an in-network lab, facility or specialist of your choice.

What is my Care Team?

The members of your dedicated care team (including registered nurses, medical assistants and care coordinators) are ready to help you every step of the way. At the core of your care is your visit with your primary care provider, but your care team can help you check your vitals and will coordinate lab and imaging orders, assist with referrals to specialists and answer questions. They’re like the staff in a doctor’s office but offer personalized support when and where it’s most convenient for you.

Can I get a prescription?

Yes. Our primary care providers can start new medications and order refills. Your primary care provider will work with you to decide which medications are clinically necessary and appropriate. Some common types of medication prescribed include those for management of high blood pressure, diabetes and cholesterol. Primary care providers may prescribe maintenance medications for up to one full year. In a case where you are requesting a refill that has not been prescribed by our primary care providers before, please upload a picture of the prescription bottle or medication needing a refill to ensure the correct medication and dosing are issued.

Can you prescribe GLP-1 medications for weight loss?

AIHealth primary care providers can prescribe GLP-1 medications to established members for weight loss when clinically appropriate and permitted by state regulations. Our approach to weight loss can include nutritional advice, behavioral therapy, a complete medical assessment and medications. We encourage you to discuss your weight loss goals with your primary care provider to see if a GLP-1 medication is right for you. Costs for GLP-1 medications are dependent on your insurance coverage.

How do you handle bloodwork, imaging and labs?

Your primary care provider can order lab work, imaging studies, referrals and vaccinations. If needed, your care team will assist in connecting you to an in-network lab or facility of your choice. Results will be reviewed with you by your provider, incorporated into your care plan and uploaded to your AIHealth account.

What happens if I need to speak with a doctor right away?

If you are sick and in need of care right away, you can request a General Medical visit to talk to a doctor 24/7 for non-emergency conditions like cold and flu, sinus infections, allergies and more.
